Stars is a full service talent agency founded in 1986 by Lyn Claxon and is now run by her daughter Kristin Claxon Stinnet, a former talent who attended Juliiard and graduated from USF with a degree in communication. Stars is located in a beautiful space centrally located near downtown. The light filled facility is home to one of the most comprehensive agencies in town with a long list of talent divisions and services.
Their talent divisions include: On-camera, voice-over, live and trade show, and specialty. They also feature a literary division with writers and directors for film and television.
They also have a range of services including: casting, audio studio, translation and project consultation.
Stars talent can be seen and heard everywhere. From principals in long running commercials, soaps, episodics, sit-coms movies of the week, major motion picture and television productions and industrial broadcast projects and more.
A long distinguished track record and after 25 years is still one of the most respected agencies on the West Coast. They are licensed and members of the ATA, and their affiliations include: AFTRA AEA, DGA, WGA and provides the opportunity to audition for SAG projects.
Stars is also recognized in Europe, Asia, Australia, providing international opportunity for their talent.
One should take the opportunity to visit their beautiful website to get all the details of all that they do as it’s too long a list to do a thorough job here.
Because they have an in-house audio facility keep in mind that if you get the opportunity to visit them, be sure to look for the “Please Keep Quiet” sign posted on the front desk when an audio session is happening.
Besides the fact that they have and maintain a great reputation, and have a long list of services, if no other reason to call on them is that the elevator opens right in their space, ala penthouse style, so for us that is a cool enough excuse to go by. As with other agencies, if you feel you have what it takes then make it a point to visit their site and see the details for becoming a talent. If you want to get off on the right foot with any agency, it’s important to understand their process and do them the courtesy of adhering to their requests.
Stars, the agency the real deal.
