Drew Fiero, Principal of Elastic Creative, has managed to put together an eclectic team of design professionals, who are using their collective skill to put out an impressive array of work. Drew got his start with a MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute. During these formative years he used cutting edge experimental techniques such as hand painting, optical printing and hand processing of film. As he moved into the commercial world he extended his creative vision to utilize compositing and layering, in the quest for innovative and striking visual design and story telling.
Elastic is another company at the fun and spirited 550 Bryant Street Media Center. Working independently, and on occasion with other Bryant Street facilities such as Westernized or Rough House, Elastic has a growing number of satisfied clients. Their online sample reels show a great range to their work, which encompasses everything from; complete ground up production /post-production, to finishing, motion effects, design and 3D. A quick look through some of the work they have done for AT&T, Sony, EMC and more demonstrate a unique vision and mastery of the new digital tools. The new technology has created a whole new visual vocabulary for people to work with, but it takes a keen eye and talent, like Drew and his team, to utilize these tools in an effective way.
The Elastic Team is young fresh, talented enthusiastic, and seem to have a slightly offbeat sense of humor. This translates into a great working relationship with their clients and creates a space where creative magic happens. With the onslaught of visual media it is all too easy to get jaded, where everything starts looking remarkably the same. So it is no easy task to come up with a design aesthetic that cuts through the clutter. This is what Drew and his team seem to love to do, and it can be seen in their work. Their website is a fun place to visit and here you can see samples of their work and find out more about this intrepid bunch. There are too many folks to give you more detail but if you want to find out more about: Drew, Carlos, Geri, Desean, Maria, Fernando, Chris, Carlos, Hernan, Brandon, Ryota, Nathan, Jesse, Madhan, Chris, Tuana or Andre, you are just going to have to visit the Elastic Creative site.
In the last few years it seems like “design / post studios” have been popping up left and right. It can get overwhelming cutting through all this information. But we can assure you that Elastic is one of those places you would love to have on your team, and here at PHS we are happy to include them in our short list of go to companies.
