Many of the stages in the Bay Area started off as something else, and became stages somewhere along the way. So while many of them are large enough, and have vehicle access and built in professional lighting grids, probably their biggest limitation is sound proofing. Most are perfectly adequate, and some are better then others, but there are just a handful of stages that can rightfully be called a sound stage. LMA Productions Stage is one of those few. It was designed from the ground up as a sound stage and features a whopping 3000sqft stage, with 16.5 feet to lighting grid, a 75’ 2 wall cyclorama, ground level access and plenty of power. This beautiful facility is steeped in history dating back to the to early 90’s. John Madden and David Liskin joined forces to build a stage and start Liskin Madden Association and in 1991 they opened the stage.
In addition to the stage itself they installed a state of the art control room. This made it possible to accommodate a wide range of projects from; live TV, advanced component editing, audio sweetening, graphics and basically everything a full service production company would be required to provide. Thankfully they had the wisdom to install production grade whisper quiet air conditioning, which makes this not only a great place to work, but a comfortable place to work as well. How many times have you done a shoot on a hot day at a stage with inadequate air, probably more then you care to remember.
In addition to one of the top tier stages in the Bay Area LMA offers:
Avid and Final Cut editing suites
Large complement of in house Grip and Lighting Equipment
Graphics; 2D 3D animation
Production Equipment Rental
The current team at LMA continues to provide great service, and we are fortunate to have a facility like this available. Located in Pleasanton, which could possibly be a more convenient location for many Bay Area producers then San Francisco. We encourage everyone to check out the LMA facility, you’ll like what you see.
