Marla Dell Talent Agency, is a well recognized name in this town. Marla, now retired, built a well-respected agency. Though possibly best known for her work with kids, her agency was well rounded, and represented adults as well. Cut to 2013, and as with all things change is afoot.
Michelle Mikalla’s youthful appearance belies her experience and her business savvy in taking over the agency, which is now branded as MDT. Michelle started at Marla Dell’s as the head of the fit modeling division, but now is President and CEO, and running the whole show.
Michelle has carried on the tradition started my Marla in making her agency a boutique and customer oriented business. Rather then getting into a sheer numbers competition MDT sets itself apart by focusing on quality and being picky about who they represent. MDT currently features six divisions. These include:
Tradeshows and Conventions
The Bay Area is a relatively small market and there are only a handful of talent agencies that we would recommend. MDT is on our list, and they have demonstrated their commitment to running a high quality, service oriented and friendly and professional agency. They have a respect for their talent and take pride in nurturing them, and even encourage them to move on to bigger markets, like LA or NY, when the timing is right.
They are a SAG/AFTRA franchised and licensed and bonded by the state of California. They represent both Union and Non Union Talent. They have a great comfortable location in the fashionable Union Street district of San Francisco. We think that Michelle and her team, Nicole Younce, and Olivia Tehrani, are doing a great job at keeping the agencies tradition alive. MDT continues to be a vital part of the local production community and we encourage you to check them out. If you have interest in being represented by MDT you should check out how to submit on their website.
