So one day you wake and you say to yourself "I know, Im going to build two state of the art soundstages, and I think Im going to put them in San Carlos, seems like a good idea to me". Well maybe you didnt say that but someone did, and by gosh they actually went ahead and built them. And arent we glad that that they did. Everything about the new stages at Meets the Eye has the local production community going gaga. As word got out, and people starting dropping by, everything they heard turned out to be true and jaws were a dropping.
Meets the Eye features 2 beatiful stages. Studio A is 50 x 70 with a 25 x 53 ft pre-lit cove, the Studio B is a respectible 40 x 50. There is large drive up access doors. In this town when folks hear about a stage they usually ask "can it fit a car", well these babies can fit a truck, or two. In addition to the stages themselves, the Meets the Eye facility has clealry been built to meet the real world needs of the working professional. That means plenty of useful space. From production offices, kitchen, shower, make-up dressing rooms, and more this place looks and feels great.
The team over at Meets the Eye is user friendly, and from the beginning have put out a big welcome mat to the local community. Their open house launch party was a blast, and between shoots they have gone out of their way to offer a helping hand and make the space available to a number of local organizatons. Clearly their heart is in the right place, and whoever it is who got the bright idea to put this together, we only hope there are more great ideas to come, because this one was a whopper. So if you havent been there yet, hop skip or jump or whatever you need to do, but make an excuse and get down and see this place. You wont be disappointed.
