Milomix is Chris Miloslavich, and Chris is Milomix and they are one in the same. Formely housed at the infamous 550 Bryant Street, Milomix has recently relocated to the 32TEN Studios faciility in San Rafael. Like the former location 32TEN has a growing collective of diverse creative companies at its facility. Like at Bryant Street, Milomix fits right into its new vibrant and creative atmosphere. One’s first impression of both the Milomix facility and Chris himself are the same, that is you feel at ease, and that you will be well taken care. Chris talks about his start in the business at Berke Sound in the early 80’s. Not only did he develop his craft but was taught about maintaining the highest technical standards, and making the client’s satisfaction a top priority. A mindset he carries through to every project he undertakes. Chris had expanded his audio background into a work as a freelance producer, but eventually came back to editing and his love of mixing images and sound. Currently working on an Avid Media Composer Chris uses his talent on a wide range of projects, from broadcast commercials to long form documentaries. His creative eye and curious and playful nature is evident in his work. He admits to a special fondness for music projects, and on his website he talks about a recent project recording a CD, Tota Pulchra, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. He notes that some of the tracks date back to 300AD, and more can be found about this project here.
Chris likes the environment of the 550 Bryant Street facility, as it encourages a cross current of creative juices. Other facilities such as Sirius Sound, Elastic Creative and others often find projects to work on together. Many of the other 550 facilites are featured here on PHS.
