Company Description
The film and video business can be a rough and tumble affair. It is an odd mixture of art, business, technology, ego’s, artistic vision and practical limitations of time and money. There are many opinions about many things, and just a few things that everyone agrees on. One of the most important of these is “make sure everyone gets paid”. It is on this issue that for more then 3 decades local companies have been turning to The Talent Fund to make sure things go smoothly. Perhaps more so then in other industries, in production, payroll can be a labyrinth of confusing regulations and red tape. This is why so many companies over the years have turned to Joni and her team.
Joni Williamson joined The Talent Fund in 1982 and was instrumental in its’ growth and development. In 1987 she became the owner, when founder Clair Stahmer retired. Over the years Joni and her great team have been supporting the local industry with a high standard of personalized and friendly service. They take on all jobs from big to small, and have earned the respect from their clients for taking away their payroll headaches and getting the job done.
Talent Fund pays actors, musicians, crew, staff –union and non union-, and anyone else involved in a production. Because a single production often utilizes so many different trades, the various union and government regulations can make payroll a nightmare. But The Talent Fund has built their business by understanding and staying on top of all the in’s and outs. They have long standing relationships with primary unions including; Aftra, SAG, AFM, IATSE, and AEA, making the process easier for you. Complicated union and government tax systems are their specialty. Things like payroll taxes, union benefits, workers comp, unemployment claims, Federal and State payroll tax returns, and W2’s all represent potential pitfalls for your company. Good news is that Talent Fund takes all the guesswork out of the equation. Get them on board early on and they have the experience to help keep all the necessary information organized. Then when all is said and done, they figure everything out, and send you one invoice. You pay them, and they make sure everyone is paid and take care of everything else. How cool is that?
The members of the Talent Fund team are exceptional, and each local icons in their own way. Some important contact numbers for you to make note of are as following:
